- K4Lic0, on 01/26/2009, -2/+48That's nice, start us at image 14 of 21.
http://www.dallasobserver.com/slideshow/view/16343 ... <-- link to the start of the slideshow. - jboitnott, on 01/25/2009, -3/+39Looks like Dallas needs to tear down some buildings.
- trentrezn0r, on 01/26/2009, -3/+39So they're abandoned buildings..... wow?
As someone who regularly explores abandonment for my urban decay photography work, what's the point of this article? So they took some crappy pics. Do they even say why?
As for how abandonments go, these are actually in really good shape and don't appear to be abandoned for a severely long time to pose as a danger to citizens.
Every city is going to have abandonments. - leaprinces, on 01/25/2009, -3/+35And some members of my family are 'afraid' to come in to my room while I'm in the middle of my exams !! I must show them this pictures !!!
- centran, on 01/26/2009, -0/+30They are still owned by someone. So, yes they do.
- Slidr, on 01/26/2009, -0/+27More importantly, WTF is in that sink in picture #1?!
- YME1280, on 01/25/2009, -1/+16Dugg for the fact that we know they're vacant, but they added "soiled" in the title. Classic.
- ryright, on 01/26/2009, -0/+15Really, why has nobody addressed this? It looks like a cross between a snake and a human heart.
- inactive, on 01/26/2009, -0/+11I don't think I want to know.
- MooNinja, on 01/26/2009, -1/+12Every city has abandoned buildings ? How is this news ?
- frankdozier, on 08/10/2009, -3/+13You're not even trying to make any sense, are you?
- arcooke, on 01/26/2009, -0/+10Once you hit #21 and push next.. it goes to image #1. Doesn't matter which image they started us at.
- vicgp3, on 01/26/2009, -0/+9or gut them, slap up some walls, call em lofts and sell em for 750k
- vicgp3, on 01/26/2009, -1/+10No, because they are city inspectors. If locating the owners is impossible, they're not going to wait to see if a building is structurally sound.
- tnerd, on 01/25/2009, -2/+10They sure didn't like these buildings much.. or just got too comfortable with it..
- wontstoptalking, on 01/26/2009, -5/+13Put it on as many pages as you want, I'm using AdBlock.
But seriously, WTF - aufte, on 01/26/2009, -0/+7If you can't be bothered to read the article before posting, at least read the title: EMPTY (as in, abandoned.)

Dozens of links to photos of abandoned insane asylums, hospitals, industrial buildings
http://abandonedmemories.com/Links.html - asgardshill, on 01/26/2009, -5/+11Looks like a lot of ripping-out of copper pipe and wire going on there. The local footpads are ganking air conditioning compressors for the copper around here, so its no surprise that its going on in Dallas too.
- danwgre, on 01/26/2009, -0/+6Trust me, Dallas is good at tearing things down and replacing it with trendy cheap construction that is abandoned in 15 years and then tore down. I have a theory that the entire city "recycles" itself on a 15-20 year cycle.
- inactive, on 01/26/2009, -0/+6how does the ***** real estate market in Dallas right now have anything to do with liberals?
- zaffir, on 01/26/2009, -0/+6Cheney's going to be happy they found him another replacement.
- vicgp3, on 01/26/2009, -0/+5After 30 years of neglect and vandalism, any other building could look like this.
- Spikito, on 01/26/2009, -1/+6Yeah, its not like this was occupied and looked this gross, its abandoned, and looks like it got looted, I don't understand whats so awesome about it
- emkaysmith, on 01/26/2009, -0/+5No, Dallas is actually quite clean for a city of over a million people. If you really want to see "dirty," go to Los Angeles.
- peestandingup, on 01/26/2009, -0/+5Someone likes Kodak cameras.
- bstockwell, on 01/26/2009, -0/+5Ah Urban Gentrification. It never gets old!

- dawnraid101, on 01/26/2009, -2/+7Ok wtf, making me reload the entire page each time for a new picture, ever heard of AJAX or flash?
- inactive, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4It looks like a dead, moldy frog.
- elipabst, on 01/26/2009, -4/+8That's a shame. In 10/21 someone abandoned a perfectly good black kid.
- supguy, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4What's the big deal.......?
- STARTSOMETHING, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4There ducks. The one on the right is easy to see.
- decepticrat, on 01/25/2009, -3/+7I saw a few of these buildings being used in art pieces as parts of the exhibit. Very cool, but also scary. I mean, I don't wanna die from having a big piece of art collapsing on me.
- haydesigner, on 01/26/2009, -2/+6Moron.
- coheedcollapse, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4A lot of these were taken in the city of Gary, which is admittedly worse than any area around where I live aside from Detroit. Stuff like this is pretty commonplace in all abandoned buildings because the second people move out, taggers, vandals, scrappers, and squatters move in leaving all sorts of crap around.

Yes, that's my stuff, but I think it's too relevant to the situation to be considered spam. At least hopefully it is. - Jebra, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4Baby pigeons.
- haydesigner, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4*wishes to be in Chernobyl*
No.... no, you don't.

http://www.dallasobserver.com/slideshow/view/16343 ... - extraqueso, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3I'm pretty sure these buildings have been vacant long before the economic crisis.
- crispa1970, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3that's going on all over the country
- lagmar, on 01/26/2009, -2/+5***** photos.
- vicgp3, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3These buildings were victims of the economic crapping of the 90s.
- StickWST, on 01/26/2009, -5/+8***** these clunky ass sideshow systems used by obscure news websites.
- OutlawSundown, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3Just wanted to point out that the slideshow is part of a bigger article. Least adds some context and background to the pictures.

- centran, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3I was actually surprised not more the pictures showed just a thin line through drywall that someone ripped the wiring out of.
- calebian, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3Wow, way to sum up a city by 2 people.
